so lighting up the road is a big plus. they illuminate the road much better. we live in an area that has random deer everywhere. i don't know why. and these are just great for helping with that. our explorer has separate bulbs for hi and low. but it just never crossed my mind that i didn't order the hi beam. ok enough about the negatives.
I tried the silver star but it wasn't brighter so I returned it. But I actually think for budget minded people, this set of Ultra 9006 looks better than the Xentec HID I got. I replaced the 2007 Odyssey with this new set of bulbs.
For the price there, you can buy 2 sets here with change left over.I also got the 9005 for the high beam for my 2009 Honda Civic Hybrid. For $22, you can't go wrong with this. But I used installed HID kit for my Civic instead and not use the 9006.
It has enhanced the night driving experience. Autozone is selling at retail which is $49.99. Buy it and you'll be glad you did.
It is bright and legal. Definitely buy it here on Amazon.
This isnt one of those gimmics where your like " I think I notice a difference." No you notice the diff right away unless you are blind and even then you would be able to notice, but if your blind please dont drive there is enough people on the road alreay that you would swear are blind. The difference really is night and day. Not much to say except they are bight although I looked on the back of the package at the life expectency and they are only supposed to last a quarter of what a normal bulb lasts, but for the price from Amazon who cares. They are super bright and the extra vision you iget is excellent for night driving.
It has now been 2 years with NO BULB BURNOUTS. I could see the lights flutter a little during the starting process. I then experimented by manually turning on the lights AFTER the car was started. For several years I was having a problem with the Sylvania Silverstar bulbs burning out every 6 to 12 months. I believe turning the ignition with the lights already in auto on creates extra wear and tear resulting in more frequent burn-outs. I was using the practice of letting the Camry turn the lights on automatically with a turn of the ignition key. I loved the light so much that I tolerated it and replaced them with the same bulb. The process was (1) lights turn on (2) engine starts.
I don't drive that much. plus I have to remove the battery on the driver's side to change the bulb.
I put a set of these in my wife's 03 Rav last fall, and am anxious to see how long they last. I even use the latex medical gloves so I don't touch the bulb while installing.
replaced the stock sylvania lites(approx 06/2006) in my 06 civic shortly after I bought it with silverstar ULTRA 9006 su. I consider less than 2 years of bulb life unacceptable.
not buying these again. paid $50, and one burned out last night.
I only have 12k on the civic.
